About

Built because this kind of tool should be free.

Route Entry started as a direct answer to a recurring frustration: redirect links that need access control almost always require a paid service, a custom backend, or both. That felt wrong, so we built the alternative.

The problem

Scattered tools, scattered data

Sharing a link with a specific audience - beta testers, regional users, event attendees - almost always means stitching together multiple tools. A URL shortener here, a landing page builder there, a separate analytics dashboard somewhere else. None of them share data. None of them talk to each other cleanly.

The alternative is building it yourself. A password gate is maybe an afternoon of work. Add geolocation filtering, bot protection, consent collection, and a working analytics dashboard - now you're looking at weeks. That's a significant effort for something that should be a configuration choice.

Route Entry puts it all in one place. You get a redirect URL you can lock down, filter by country, challenge bots on, collect consent through, and watch in real time - without writing a line of server code or signing up for anything.

Our approach

Privacy-first. No exceptions.

There's a specific kind of irony in an analytics tool that sends your data to a dozen third parties. Route Entry doesn't do that. Your visitor data is processed and stored within the Route Entry infrastructure - it doesn't leave, it doesn't get aggregated, and it doesn't get sold.

No third-party analytics

Every metric in your dashboard is computed from data stored in your route's own database. We don't load Google Analytics, Segment, or any similar tracker on visitor-facing pages. The one third-party touch is Cloudflare Turnstile for the bot challenge gate, which runs on Cloudflare's servers.

Automatic data cleanup

Sessions delete after 30 days. If a route accumulates more than 10,000 sessions, the oldest records are trimmed first. Routes with no activity for 90 consecutive days are removed entirely along with all their visitor data. Data retention isn't a setting you configure - it's built into how the system works.

No account, no lock-in

Creating a redirect requires no email address, phone number, or billing method. Management access uses a token generated at creation time. If you lose it, you lose management access - but there's no account to compromise, no profile stored, and no password to reset or leak.

Free forever

All features. No plan tiers. No catch.

Every gate type, the full analytics dashboard, and the geolocation heatmap are available to every route. There is no premium tier that unlocks more. There are no usage charges once you cross a threshold - though there is a daily limit of 50,000 visitor events per 24-hour window, and session storage is capped at 10,000 per route.

Route Entry is intentionally scoped to stay sustainable: efficient edge delivery, clear event limits, and automatic cleanup make a genuinely free service viable. That's not a marketing promise - it's why the math works. If the constraints ever change in a meaningful way, we'll communicate it clearly and in advance.
